Scholars are very cautious about assigning meaning to a specific Celtic knot or spiral. But the Celtic interlace can generally be expressed as representing the repeated crossings of the spiritual and physical paths in our lives. Knots have a closed path with no beginning or end and may be symbolic of eternity or continuum. These kinds of knots and interlacing patterns are found throughout history across continents and cultures.
