Tiger Eye is known for its chatoyancy and shine when placed under the right light. When a piece is cut and polished correctly, you may be able to see a true “cat’s eye” formation. A cat’s eye is a light shimmering glaze that coats the stone but is incredibly hard to see unless it’s under the right light.

Tiger Eye is a variety of Quartz. It forms when Crocidolite has its chemical fibers replaced by silica. Its colors are generally a combination of golden browns, yellow, beige or tan.
