In the Wiccan calendar, the solar year is seen as an ever-turning wheel with eight spokes. The eight spokes represent the four major solar events (solstices and equinoxes) and the four midpoints between them. Since each of these events marks a significant point in the changing of the seasons and the harvesting of food, they are celebrated with festivals related to their respective harvest.
Inside a gorgeous starry bag, you will find an illustration for each of the eight wiccan festivals printed on glossy 4.6”x7.2” cards, with a summary of the meaning and symbols on the reverse side. An extra ninth card explores the wheel of the year itself in greater detail. NOTE: these are not tarot cards, they are a small set of eight (8) art cards. One might use the illustrated side as the centerpiece of a seasonal altar, or use the back side as an introduction/refresher of the Wiccan calendar.
