This limited edition sacred oil has been created from the finest Ecuadorian Palo Santo (meaning holy wood) tree twigs, “the ones closest to heaven and furthest from the land.” It was created in sacred space and time with healing intention and lots of arboreal love. Its fragrance brings to mind the scent of citrus with a few notes of wood and is similar to frankincense, its close relative. (formerly known as Shaman 999).

The creator of this essential oil is an alchemist, with a deep spiritual connection to the Palo Santo tree.  Dante has done as much for the continued propagation of this tree in the Ecuadorian forest as a man can do, working with the government to ensure its continued reforestation for years to come.  The positive impact made from the operations which create the oil is a model for sustainability.  Not only is this oil eco-friendly, it is fairly traded, supports local economy and has empowered women by providing opportunities not traditionally available to them. 

As much as Dante embraces the tree, it seems to hug him back, given his continued good luck in propagating saplings and the creation of stellar products.  And the cycle continues with part of the proceeds from this oil being given back to the sustainability of the forest.  Long regarded as spiritual oil, Palo Santo oil was used during the time of the Incas for its reputed spiritual purifying properties. Palo Santo oil traditionally has been used for repelling insects, helping with coughs asthma and allergies,  psoriasis, acne, wounds and sprains, arthritis, neck pain and muscle aches. 

Today, Palo Santo oil is considered for its antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial qualities.  The use of the oil supports states of calmness and relaxation beneficial during meditation, concentration and for enhancing creativity and learning.  It can be used to release negative energy and purify the spirit. 

The name bestowed on this special edition fragrant oil, Shamans 999, has significance in two ways.  First, shamans in places where the tree grows, and now in other places as well, have long used the wood of the Palo Santo tree (Bursera graveolens) in their sacred practices, rituals and ceremonies, so the word shaman was included.  The name also contains the use of the primary number 9.  The number was selected to reflect certain unique characteristics of its creation, which yields 9 liters; is processed at a temperature of 99 degrees and uses 90 kilograms of the highest quality Palo Santo sprigs from branches closet to heaven.  In addition this number in used for it metaphysical significance.  The number 9 has long been associated in mythology with travel to an underworld for various kinds of realization or purification and then to be raised up to the heavens and reborn.

Of Interest:  The tree of Palo Santo is originally from the dry tropical forests on the coast of the South Pacific, Ecuador being the main country where this tree is found. The Palo Santo Oil is only concentrated and deposited in the interior of the tree trunk. It can takes up to 10 years to produce the oil and to get concentrated in their trunk.  Only tree branches that fall naturally from the ground are used to make this oil. The average life of the tree of Palo Santo is between 80 and 90 years.History:  The natives in Ecuador have used it mainly to protect themselves from insects (mosquito) and also in ancestral rituals where shamans use this oil to clear bad energy from the bodies.
